Haunting of The Screaming Tunnel

The Screaming Tunnel
retold byS. E. Schlosser

There is a tunnel under the old railroad tracks just to the west of the Queen Elizabeth Way in Niagara Falls. It is known locally as the Screaming Tunnel. A path wanders through the tunnel and then up to an empty field on the hill. But the field was not always empty.

At one time, a large farm house stood in the field at the top of the hill, and in it lived a happy family. Then one night, the house caught fire. A young daughter was trapped in the house, and the only way to escape was through a wall of flames. The brave young girl covered her face with her arms and ran into the fiery doorway. Her long hair and her long nightgown began to smolder as she burst through the flames and rushed out of the house.

When the night air struck her smoldering clothing, it burst into flames, enveloping the girl in a raging inferno. The girl screamed in agony and ran blindly down the hill, away from the fire-stricken house. She staggered into the tunnel under the train tracks, her screams echoing and re-echoing through the night. Overcome by the flames, the girl fell to the floor of the tunnel, wailing in agony. She rolled frantically on the floor of the tunnel, trying to douse the flames, but her efforts were weak and ineffective. She was quickly overcome, and burned to death in the tunnel under the tracks.

After that night, anyone that dares strike a match in the tunnel under the tracks will hear the agonized death screams of the burning girl, and a ghostly wind will instantly blow out the match.

The Screaming Tunnel was used for a scene in the 1983 movie, "The Dead Zone" with Christopher Walken.

After last week's fun of taking GHOST PHOTOS IN A GRAVEYARD with Joe & Karyn we decided to meet up this week starting off with dessert at CHOCOLATES ETC. They brought their friend Patty with them. It was decided we would go to the SCREAMING TUNNEL for another fun filled night of taking photos. Bob and I had packed a crate full of halloween costumes to use. Here are some of the neat shots that were taken as the darkness was setting in.

ABOVE NIAGARA

When I first started dating Bob, in 2005, he told me he was acting in a show that could possibly hit the tv stations in the future titled ABOVE NIAGARA. It was all shot within the Niagara Region.

One day he had to go and do a film shoot and asked me to come along. I was just going to be on the side-lines watching. It was a cool afternoon and it was starting to cloud over. We got there early. The scene was with the Mayor (Janine Heaven)* of "Port Niagara" along with the Mayor's Assistant "Bob". There were suppose to be a bunch of extra's pretending to be the media interviewing the Mayor. Robert "Tanos", the director, showed up with his crew and cameras and started setting up. A few more extras showed up but there weren't enough. Bob introduced me to him and "Tanos" asked me if I would mind playing an extra. I had no experience acting since I'm quite a shy person in real life. What the heck, might as well try. I agreed. My job, take a camera and just pretend to take photo's of the interview. It was fun!!! Mind you a while later when I actually got to see part of the show, I wasn't on screen for very long and it was my back (and I was 30 lbs lighter) ROTFL!!!!!!!

I was asked again to play a part as Bob's assistant in a town hall meeting, and I didn't have lines, but as the rest of the cast and extra's left, they did a close up of Bob asking me out for a drink and I had to respond. (BLUSH). Another time was a scene for a Halloween Party. I was told once again just to be an extra in the background playing a game with Bob, etc......... but again at the end of the night, Bob's big part came up and he was having a conversation with another character. Next thing I know, "Tanos" is saying "Say this and say that", etc...... LOL -- my big break! Shy little Mary is acting reciting lines.

The show is still being compiled and Tanos has added a new twist. He is actively searching for more positions to be filled. This you are interested? CLICK HERE and then click on the menu selection CASTING.

There currently is a FACEBOOK GROUP as well.

UPDATE

Sorry gang for being away so long.

Lots to catch up on, unfortunately no piccies at this time.

We decided to sell Bob's house and buy a new one which we'll be moving into August 30, 2008 -- it's a whole new canvas for us. The house is MUCH bigger then Bob's old house. We're going to take our time redecorating as we now have to adjust to a budget. lol

We have ALSO decided to get married - which will happen September 20, 2008 so no doubt there will be a lot to show from that once it happens.

Once we are settled, we'll get back into the swing of things and I'll start painting again. Yaaay!

Thanks for hanging in there and stay tuned.

Oh, well, I guess while you are waiting you can click this link to a fellow blogger/friend Karyn who took some practice photo's for Bob and I as she and her man Joe have volunteered to do pictures for us for the wedding since we aren't hiring a photographer. You see, Bob and I are paying for this wedding ourselves, so the budget is very tight.

ENJOY!

Hi I'm New Here!

My dear friend TrailMixDesigns told me I just HAD to start my own Blogger site, so here I am.

I normally use MYSPACE, but she said this is much better.

I guess I have to start from scratch! lol

My fiance and I started our own Etsy shopped titled FISHINTHEC - so I'll be posted a lot of the items we have done for the store PLUS items we have made for ourselves!!!!!

We also have items painted by Bob's mom in our Etsy store.

Here are two Stained Glass Window Paintings Bob and I each worked on.

I LOVE The YELLOW SUBMARINE

and Bob likes Doctor Who.

So that's it for now until I figure this thing out.
