Happy Halloween Everyone 2012

Sad to say, but this year Bob and I weren't feeling the Love for Halloween - not sure what is up, maybe the stresses of work every day and things going on around us, it just isn't happening.  We had really good intentions, but things just didn't happen.  Oh well, at least we have some candy to hand out, but even then, will we?  Will get get any kids?   Hurricane Sandy came for a visit last night and we are still getting the rain from it along with another system that moved in.  Where we live, we are lucky to see between 30-50 kids.   We shall see.

 

Anyways, one of my co-workers went to a party on the weekend and Bob and I sort of know the couple who hosted it.  We received an invite but we didn't go due to other obligations.   He showed me on his cell phone a photo he thought I'd like.  BOY DID I EVER!  Finally some better quality photos showed up on Facebook and I was soooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!  

 

I emailed our friend to ask if I could post a couple of her piccies on my Pinterest Page and thought, what the hey, I'll post them here too - teehee!

 

I'm so impressed with the job that Dara did she has made me interested in Halloween again!  LOL

 

I don't think I'll have time to make a simular costume, but gosh darn it, it's made me excited about trying!  Yippeeeeeee!

 

Again, as you know, I love EVERYTHING to do with Yellow Submarine - so I hope you enjoy Dara's pics of her costume she mad!!

YELLOW SUBMARINE LUGGAGE - 09-21-12

I was playing around on Facebook on August 20 when a message popped up on my screen from a friend who said she had been in WINNERS and spotted Yellow Submarine luggage.   The next day right after work my hubby and I booted it over to the store and low and behold they had all three pieces there.  I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!   As you can see, I bought all three!

I had seen this luggage online in the UK and it was for double the amount I paid at WINNERS.  

By the way, did you know I  LOVE  everything to do with the Yellow Submarine?  teehee!

Even the kittens had to come out and check on the luggage.   :)

Painting & Necklace Storage Idea!

As you know, I LOVE everything to do with the Beatles' YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!    After finding an unfinished table at a local thrift store I knew what I had to do - paint my own Yellow Submarine table!!   I used the colours: lime green, purple, yellow, red & black.   I LOVE IT!!!!!  



Now, I was introduced to the fabulous website  PINTEREST - it is Heaven!!!!!   All the wonderful pictures & ideas.  I was so inspired by the following:

I was looking through photos one day and came across a sign someone had painted that stated something about Dog's Nose Art.   We don't own any dogs, but we do own SIX cats, so I turned to my husband and said I HAVE to paint my own sign.   I located a piece of wood that I had downstairs, again something from a thrift store years ago and couldn't figure out what to paint on it and after seeing the Dog's Nose Art sign, I knew what to paint on it.   Again, I have to use funky colours and paint.   So here is what I painted.  :o)




And again, searching through Pinterest this morning looking for an idea to hang necklaces.  I liked the ideas they had for using picture frames, but I own A LOT of necklaces.  Over the years I have bought, been given as gifts and inherited some gorgeous necklaces, so the picture frame idea was out.   Then it popped into my head - I have a gorgeous rustic ladder I purchased at a yard sale a few years back at my aunt's house.  I fell in love with it when I saw it and decided to place it out on our front porch.  I brought it in and started placing the necklaces on it.  LOOKS AWESOME!!  Yaaaa, my own Pinterest Idea!!!
